ABOUT US





"Biodiversitatis" Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserve biodiversity. To achieve our goals, we established a team of scientists, social campaigners and environmental activists. We cooperate with local communities as well as with public and private sector entities.

  • supporting conservation of valuable natural habitats;

  • documenting biodiversity;
  • supporting local communities in the efforts of establishing protected areas;

ACTIVITIES



Research





Our studies concern various aspects of biodiversity - its description and analysis. We conduct research on ecology, taxonomy and phylogeny which are supplemented with ecological niche modeling and modern techniques of micromorphological imaging.

ACTIVITIES



Biodiversity conservation





Our goal is to preserve areas naturally rich in biodiversity in cooperation with local communities.


Planet Earth is home to about 6.5 million species found on land and 2.2 million dwelling in the ocean depths, according to the latest estimate. However, there are just 1.2 million species officially registered in the Catalogue of Life and the World Register of Marine Species.


As a result of climate changes, 15-37% of land organisms will disappear by 2050.


We are raising funds to purchase 30 ha of Northern Andean montane forest in Valle de Sibundoy, southern Colombia in order to create there a nature reserve with a research station and education centre.
